ESO Patch Notes v1.3.3

ESO patch notesOVERVIEW

Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online v1.3.3, our third major content update.

In this update, we’ve added armor dye stations where you can change the color of your armor with dyes you unlock through achievements. We’ve also added and improved many guild features including the addition of guild heraldry, guild traders, and improved guild management.

Another exciting change is the updates to our campaigns in Cyrodiil. We’ve implemented new campaign options, each with their own rule set.

Alongside these new features, you’ll find many fixes to quests, combat, art, and audio. We’re also continuing to work on the overall class balance, but are doing so carefully so as not to impact your build too much.

ESO Champion System – Account Wide Progression

Paul Sage has confirmed in an interview with ElderScrollsOTR that ESO is about to get its own account wide character progression system: the champion system. Based on Paul Sage’s description, the system seems very similar to Diablo 3’s Paragon system.

The champion system in ESO will be the last phase of the veteran rank overhaul.

The Champion System in a nutshell

  • Veteran Points will be gone and turned into regular experience.
  • Any experience gained after veteran ranks will be converted to champion points, which can then be used for various different passives, such as critical hit or spell defense.
  • Unlocking champion ranks will also unlock them for any other characters on your account.
  • After a champion rank has been unlocked, you’ll be able to spend the champion points on useful passives individually on your alts.
  • This gives an incentive to keep on developing your veteran rank characters, because not only will your veteran rank character become more powerful, your other characters will also be able to benefit from champion points.
  • You’ll only be able to gain champion points after level 50.
  • Champion System will also include “seasons” with season specific champion gear, which will be hard to acquire. Champion gear will have no level requirement, so it looks like it could be ESO’s take on heirlooms.

We’ll be able to learn more from The Future of ESO Panel in QuakeCon. Stay tuned!

ElderScrollsOTR’s interview shared some juicy info on other subjects as well, such as Dragonstar Arena, the future of Imperial City and 3v3v3 Arena. Read more about it below.

Provisioning Revamp – Major Provisioning Changes

eso provisioning changesZenimax is considering a revamp for Provisioning. You can read the full explanation of the revamp below, but here’s some of the changes the revamp would cause:

  • The number of provisioning ingredients would be cut down to half, but the number of recipes would stay the same or increase.
  • Most, if not all, of the current provisioning recipes would be changed.
  • There would be less randomness involved in getting provisioning ingredients from containers. “What you see is what you get”. Clicking on a sack of beans would no longer give you meat, and so on.
  • You could also have both a food and a drink buff active at the same time.

OVERVIEW

The Elder Scrolls Online v1.2.5 is an incremental patch and addresses many issues with quests, UI, and gameplay. We have also introduced some changes to the Veteran system to make it more solo-friendly. We have implemented some small performance improvements that may result in better FPS for some. Please note that is part of an ongoing effort to resolve client performance issues, and we are working on additional improvements and fixes as well. We understand how much frustration this causes, and it remains our number one priority.
