ESO Patch 1.0.1 Notes

eso patch notesHere are the latest ESO patch notes. This is the first official post-launch patch.

You’ve probably been wondering why the game keeps handing you Provisioning rank 6 recipes. Well, it’s because the rank 6 recipes were accidentally included in the loot tables for all player levels. This has now been fixed, among many other things.

Fungal Grotto Dungeon Guide

Fungal Grotto is the first 4-man group dungeon for the Ebonheart Pact located in the western end of Stonefalls, the first major Ebonheart Pact zone. Normal mode Fungal Grotto is tuned to level 12-15 players.

Aldmeri Dominion and Daggerfall Covenant players can also explore Fungal Grotto after they’ve completed the first 4-man dungeon in their own zones: Banished Cells or Spindleclutch. The dungeon can be travelled to by using the world map. You won’t be able to explore the enemy alliance zones until you hit the veteran content, but you can teleport to the dungeon instance instead.

This guide provides an overview of the group dungeon Fungal Grotto, its bosses and the key fight mechanics for each boss encounter.

Bag Space in ESO: How to Maximize your Inventory Size

eso bag spaceAnyone who has played ESO can tell how important bag or inventory space is. Maximizing your inventory size is a huge quality of life improvement.

If you are the same type of player as myself, you loot just about everything in Elder Scrolls Online. No crate or barrel escapes my keen eye. They must be opened and looted! Every. Single. One.

This kind of playstyle does cause a problem. And that is the lack of bag space. There’s a couple of tricks to increase your inventory size – you can even go beyond the indended inventory limits temporarily.

This guide will focus on inventory, bank and bag space in ESO.

Early Access Launch: Success

early accessI’m going to keep this post pretty short.

ESO has now been live for a full 24 hours, and we’ve all had some time to get reacquainted with Tamriel. I was very happy to see a much, much smoother launch than I expected. I can only speak for the EU megaserver, but there didn’t seem to be many issues at all.

I was expecting a boat load of quests to be bugged, I expected login queues, lag and server crashes. There was a time when all players and NPCs around me froze and I couln’t interact with anything. I was forced to shut down the game. I had one quest bug on me. A priestess refused to do her thing. Relogging did the trick there. Comparing this to the previous beta weekend, I was pleasantly surprised of how painless my first day in ESO was.

Rings of Mara Explained

ring of maraRings of Mara are special items in ESO which grant bonus experience, and are rewarded to those who have completed the Ritual of Mara. Two players can complete the ceremony, and at least one of them needs to have the Imperial Edition of Elder Scrolls Online.

To get a Ring of Mara, you must first complete the Ritual of Mara. For the ritual you need at least one player who owns the Imperial Edition of ESO, as mentioned above. Every Imperial Edition player receives an item called Pledge of Mara, which is needed to initiate the ritual. Imperial Edition owners can partner up with people who own the Standard Edition of the game, though.

Adventure Zones and Trials: Leaderboards Confirmed

Zetrials in esonimax’ latest news article gives us a sneak peek to the veteran content, also known as end-game content in ESO. Turns out Adventure Zones are NOT the raid equivalent large group PvE content we thought they would be – Trials are.

What’s great is that Trials will include leaderboards, providing groups an incentive to go back and destroy the time other Trial groups have set, and fight for the top spot on the ladder.

Adventure Zones or Trials won’t be in at launch, but Zenimax is aiming to include them in the first content update patch.

ESO Patch 1.0 Notes

eso patch notesThe patch name ‘1.0’ suggests that it’s possible this is the last patch we’ll get before early access. The latest ESO Patch notes include a number of critical bug fixes. Most of the game-breaking quest bugs beta testers have encountered in the low-level areas should be fixed according to the patch notes.

There was an interesting pair of changes to some racial skills as well:

The Dark Elf racial passive Flame Talent was fixed overall, but also received an increase to fire damage bonus. The High Elf racial passive Elemental Talent was nerfed. Two of the last ranks for the passive were reduced, which puts it more in line with the other racials in game. Until this point Elemental Talent on its own was a big enough reason to choose to play an Altmer if you were planning on mainly casting elemental spells – overall it increased your elemental damage by 6%. It will probably end up being +2% for the first rank and +1% for the last two ranks, putting it to +4% total increase to elemental damage, which is still a very decent bonus.

Skill Points in ESO

skill point reset shrineSkill points are a limited resource in Elder Scrolls Online. You’ll naturally cumulate skill points as you advance in game, but you can also go out of your way to specifically hunt for skill points.

Skill points are needed for just about everything in ESO. You use skill points to unlock passive crafting skills, passive and active combat skills and their morphs.

That’s why grabbing all the skill points you can possibly get will be very important for character progression.

Here’s a breakdown of skill points in ESO: how many are there, where do you get them and how do you reset them.
