Ask Us Anything: Crafting

Zenimax poalchemy tablested an article which features questions submitted by the community, answered by the developers. The article focuses on Crafting, and whilst it does not necessarily provide any new information, it’s a good read for anyone who isn’t up to date with the crafting system in Elder Scrolls Online.

The article confirms that every type of crafting material can be found in the overland world of Tamriel – you don’t need to run dungeons or defeat special bosses to get your hands on rare crafting materials.

Craglorn – Adventure Zone in ESO

sigil stoneMmorpg.com released a youtube video which discussed Craglorn, an Adventure Zone in Elder Scrolls Online. Apparently the information was leaked from a forum post which was addressed to internal beta testers. Well, the information is now out there, and speculation has begun. Adventure Zones have been advertised as ESO’s equivalent of raids: they are large group PvE encounters, but differ from “traditional raids” in a couple of ways. The developers have specifically said adventure zones will not include bosses the size of skyscraper, with a large group of players hacking at its ankles to take it down. Adventure Zones are said to be more dynamic, but apart from that almost no information has been revealed about them yet.

There is no actual video gameplay footage of Craglorn, but what we now know about Craglorn is that it’s a big zone, roughly 2/3 the size of your average normal questing zone. It’s an outdoor area with multiple public dungeons, wayshrines, landmarks and other objectives. In many ways it’s just like a normal zone – except every living thing there is badder, bigger and comes at you with an even bigger and nastier group of friends.

Fighters Guild in Elder Scrolls Online

ESO Fighters GuildFighters Guild is a well known faction from the previous Elder Scrolls games, now making an appearance in Elder Scrolls Online. The guild takes contracts and serves the people of Tamriel with the power of steel and shield. Fighters Guild is lead by an Argonian called Sees-All-Colors.

Fighters Guild has not taken sides in the raging Alliance War in Cyrodiil, and you will be able to join the faction regardless of your Alliance. The quests Fighters Guild offers to different alliances are nearly identical with each other. The environment will be different since each alliance has their own zones, but the npcs are the same across all alliances.

Fighters Guild have their own skill line in ESO, and anyone thinking of slaying Daedra or Undead will certainly want to take a look at the abilities offered by the guild.

How to Become the Emperor in ESO

Emperor ArmorOne of the main incentives to participate in PvP in Elder Scrolls Online is conquering Cyrodiil with your alliance and having one of your fellow players be crowned Emperor. That’s right – you can become the Emperor in ESO. The Ruby Throne of Tamriel lies empty, and the three alliances: Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant and Ebonheart Pact are in war with each other, rushing to have one of their own rule Cyrodiil.

The Alliance War affects every player on Tamriel in one way or another. This is mostly visible to those who enjoy PvP and visit Cyrodiil on a regular basis, the central province of Tamriel and the stage of player vs. player combat in Elder Scrolls Online.

This short guide will explain what it takes to become the Emperor of Tamriel in Elder Scrolls Online, and what kind of incentives are in place for striving to become one.

ESO Client Will Not Require a Fresh Install

Community Manager of Elder Scrolls Online, Jessica Folsom, has confirmed that the beta client can be updated to live version of Elder Scrolls Online when the time comes. This means you will not have to do a fresh install of the full game, but you only need to patch the beta client to match the live version of Elder Scrolls Online once the full game is released.

ESO Beta Client

This is great news for those who have purchased the digital download version of the game and who have taken part in ESO beta. Not having to download the full game again, which will likely be close to 30 GB at launch, is going to save some precious time and hassle. The patch will no doubt take some time to download, but should definitely be a quicker job than a fresh install.

New Beta Invites

ESO Beta InvitesAnother set of beta invites have gone out. If you were a part of the last beta, you should have automatically received an invite for this beta session too. If you did not get yours yet, don’t panic. Sometimes it takes a day or two for everyone to receive their invite.

This time the beta invites include an extra code which can be given to friends. Those who participate in this event will unlock an exclusive monkey vanity pet at launch.
